What a year! I think 2024 has been one of the best years of my life. It wasn’t perfect; no year ever is. Of course, there were challenges as usual, breakdowns as usual, and a lot of healing work to do as usual, but you know, that’s just a part of life. I don’t expect any year to go 100% smoothly because that’s not realistic. Challenges are inevitable; they change you, shape you, and (hopefully) help you grow into a bigger, better person. :P
But 2024… has seriously been a blessing. So many good things have happened, and I feel beyond grateful!
One obvious highlight of 2024 is that we got married. With that came a wealth of memories and emotions, which have been such a significant part of this year. I’ve created so many memories, and I thought I’d share them in pictures while adding some words for each month!
So yeah, a warning: This is probably going to be the longest blog post ever. :P Bear with me; I couldn’t cut it down any more than this. Honestly, I didn’t even try. :P Haha
JANUARY
January was relaxed. I visited Copenhagen and spent time with Arthur and Thannu. We went to a cafe called LUA, which I would definitely recommend!
FEBRUARY
In February, I was back in Copenhagen and also started looking for a wedding dress. I’ll share more about that in a separate blog post. ;) I also got to celebrate a few friends and catch up with others while in Copenhagen.
The fourth picture in the first row is from our Valentine’s Day celebration. It was very laid-back; we ordered pizza and watched a movie. Simple and cozy!
MARCH
In March, we dived deeper into wedding preparations: we got the rings, started ordering decor, and most excitingly… I found my wedding dress after trying on what felt like countless options! I also found my first-look saree for the temple wedding.
We also celebrated Thannu’s birthday in Copenhagen at Bows & Balloons, which was such a fun and memorable time!
APRIL
In April, we went for a cake tasting and ordered our wedding cake at Bake My Day in Copenhagen. We also visited the temple to receive God’s blessings for our wedding and collected our wedding invitations. It was actually in March that we finished designing the invitations with Aviraa Creation and finalized the look!
April was also filled with celebrations. We celebrated our friends at their civil wedding and spent time with some friends and their adorable kids. Spending time with their kids was pure joy for me. I absolutely love them! They are definitely one of my highlights this year. They make me so happy, and their love and innocence are just… beyond words!
MAY
May was absolutely crazy; just one month to the wedding, so there was a lot going on! We did our Save The Date shoot with InFocus, my friends surprised me with a bachelorette party in Copenhagen, and we went to a J Balvin concert. I also spent some quality time with my colleagues.
It was such an amazing month, packed with exciting plans and unforgettable moments!
JUNE
June was, without a doubt, one of the best months, because we got married! Family from the UK, Canada, Botswana, and Germany came to celebrate with us, which made the week even more special. Spending time with loved ones and celebrating our love was truly incredible.
I especially cherished our temple wedding and reception. It was one of the best days of my life!
JULY
July was also amazing! I spent time catching up with more friends and got to celebrate my dad’s birthday. Then, on a spontaneous whim, we went to Prague and it was absolutely incredible!
AUGUST
August was filled with even more celebrations! My sister had her birthday, Nisanth’s cousin got married, so we traveled to Germany to celebrate with them, and our friends in Denmark also tied the knot.It was yet another month of celebrating love, and it couldn’t have been more joyful!
SEPTEMBER
September was quite relaxed! We celebrated my husband’s birthday and his dad’s birthday. We also got a new car, which was exciting! Besides that, we focused on establishing some everyday routines and working on a better work-life balance.
OCTOBER
October was also fantastic, and there were so many pictures I absolutely loved! xD We went to Alanya with some friends, which was amazing, and we also celebrated my birthday.
NOVEMBER
In November, we went to Berlin with my cousin, his fiancée, her brother, and my sister. It was such a cozy trip, though I wish we had more time together. It was just a weekend in Berlin, but it was so nice to spend time and catch up!
Aside from that, I got into the Christmas spirit a bit earlier this year than usual, so I actually started decorating already in November!
DECEBMER
December was pretty chill as well. I spent a lot of time decorating our home and watching a ton of Christmas movies, alongside working. :P I also spent some quality time with friends.
We ended the year in Copenhagen with our friends, where we went out to eat. It was the perfect way to wrap up the year; chill and joyful!
