MAYBELLINE NEW YORK SuperStay Active Wear

I’ve been testing the Maybelline Super Stay Active Wear Foundation for a few days, and for the price, I think it’s decent. Let’s discuss the pros and cons to elaborate on what I mean by ‘decent.’

Pros:

  • Affordable: The price is much cheaper since it’s a drugstore product.
  • Easy to work with: Application is simple and user-friendly.
  • Beautiful finish: Provides a smooth, flawless look.

Cons:

  • Prone to caking: If you build it up too much, it becomes cakey. It’s not easy to layer since it’s already quite heavy.
  • Feels heavy on the skin: As a full-coverage foundation, it feels too heavy for my preference. I prefer lightweight foundations that don’t feel noticeable on the skin.

As you can see here, the finish is quite nice. The photos are unedited, so you can see the actual results. I did notice a few dry areas around my mouth, but this isn’t the first foundation I’ve experienced that with. :)

I chose the shade 60-Caramel. I think it’s a bit too dark for winter, but it will be perfect for summer.

For an everyday look, I wouldn’t mind using this foundation because of its price. However, at the same time, it takes away the simple, ‘natural’ look due to its heaviness. Also for parties or special events, I’d likely skip it because it feels a bit too heavy and thick for my taste. As mentioned, I prefer something more lightweight. :) Let’s take a look at more shots!

To be honest, the more I look at the photos, the more I like this foundation; especially while writing this blog post! xD Haha!

The thing is, it’s a good foundation; definitely not bad; but the fact that it isn’t lightweight bothers me. Lightweight foundations make me feel more comfortable.

I think I’d give this foundation 3 out of 5 stars. It’s average; not ‘the most amazing foundation I’ve ever tried,’ but also far from the worst. For the price, I think you get fair quality. So, once again: it’s all right! If you really love heavy, non-lightweight coverage, you might enjoy this foundation more than I did. :)
