Now let’s talk about the temple wedding look! The first look, the manavarai look, for the temple wedding was something I chose myself, while the second look, the “koorai look”, was chosen by my husband and his family. I went all in with this first look.
From the start, I knew I wanted a blue saree, and Mahaarani Luxe helped me a lot in finding the one. It was so hard! To be honest, I’d never really thought about a saree’s print, border, or design; like how the pattern should be or how big the border needed to be. Suddenly, there were all these details I’d never noticed before, but they played such a big role.
Did I like the print? Was it too much? I wanted the saree to be simple because I knew I wanted grand accessories for my first look.
I learned that a big border wouldn’t suit me since I’m not that tall. I also knew I wanted the design to be simple. One of the most challenging details for the saree was that I wanted a gold border. A lot of blue sarees tend to have a copper color border, and I didn’t want that. That was the most difficult part; the color had to be just right. The gold border had to match perfectly, and the saree design needed to remain simple.
I also didn’t want a very light baby blue, but a shade that was too dark was a no-go as well. I tried to find something close to a navy-blue-ish tone. Funny enough, the saree I chose ended up looking different in various lighting: sometimes it appeared bright, while other times it looked darker. It was messing with my head! xD
That’s when I learned that lighting and setting play a huge role in how a saree’s color is perceived. With so many details to consider, I became more and more confused about what to choose. Eventually, I took a break, cause it was so overwhelming at some point and then I revisited this blue saree, and realized: This is the one! I love everything about it!
The accessories were something I decided on much faster compared to the saree. I knew I wanted gold with white pearls, and that’s exactly what we went with.
As you can see, the thought process for everything was crazy! I didn’t expect it to be so overwhelming, but I also became deeply interested in traditional clothing during the wedding process.
My saree and accessories are from the lovely Mahaarani Luxe! They were incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, and I’m forever grateful. They made sure I was happy and completely satisfied with my choices. <3 My bangels are from DreamyCollection and the same goes for her; She was so helpful and made sure I was happy with the combination of bangles for my look!
My makeup, hair, and floral hair styling were done by Clarity Bride. She was absolutely amazing to work with; so patient, kind, and talented!
The photography and videography were handled by Nomad and Jeyash, and they were a delight to work with. They were patient, kind, and attentive, always ensuring I was comfortable. Their humor was such a bonus; it really helped ease any tension and made the process more fun. On top of that, they were highly professional and efficient. We arrived at the temple on time without any stress, which I truly appreciated!
Again a huge shoutout to: Mahaarani, Clarity Bride, Nomad, Jeyash, Seyon & DreamyCollection!
