A few weeks ago, my sister turned 29! It makes me feel old to think that she’s 29 now, but let’s not dwell on that xD. Her birthday celebration was very chill. She asked me to try making a lemon poppy seed cake, which we had at our wedding. My initial reaction was, “Nooo, I can’t do that… I’m terrible at cooking and baking,” so I almost gave up on the idea entirely. But my sister believed in me xD She was like “Why are you giving up without even trying?” And I thought, she’s right, let me give this a shot.
So I tried. I attempted to make the cake for her, and I stressed my mom out by making a mess in the kitchen. It’s always chaotic and messy when I’m cooking because I get lost and stressed xD. But the end result of the cake was good! It wasn’t the prettiest cake I admit. I struggled with decorating, but it tasted pretty good. I do think it was a little too sweet, but Arthu and Thannu loved it, and Thannu even asked me to make the same cake for her birthday next year xD. So I guess the cake was a success! Mom liked it too, and so did Thannu’s mom! It felt good! :D
We spent the day together, eating and talking. It was nice. I love those kinds of birthday celebrations xD.
